WAIKAREMOANA POWER. READY ABOUT 1928. To a Gisborne deputation that waited upon him yesterday the Minister for Publio Works stated that it was estimated that power would be available from Waikaremoana about 1928, and if Gisborne wanted the power it would be expected to take 3500 kw.’s a year. Tho first unit to be established at Waikaremoana would be a doable one representing 20,000 h.p. The Government would erect the transmission line ■to a point to be mutually arranged as near the centre of gravity of tho load as possihlo. Tbe cost of the current would be: For the first 200 kw., £l£| for the next 4800 kw., £8; and aftEJ that £7. ’
