AMATEUR WIRELESS
A WORLD RECORD. Per Press Association. ' GISBORNE, October 14. Two-way communication with an amateur wireless station in Boston, U.S.A., was established last night by Mr Ivan O’Meara, the well-known Gisborne amateur operatoi,- who was using a 50-watt valve in his transmitter. The distance is approximately 7300 miles, and this is claimed to be a world’s record. Intercommunication was maintained for on hour and a quarter.
