RUM FLEET'S “MOTHER"

CAUGHT ON PACIFIC COAOT. - OWNED BY CANADIANS. (Sydney “Sun” Cable.) NEW YORK, October 18. Th« largest liquor seizure in the history of Prohibition enforcement on the Pacific coast was effected by Government officers to-day, when they captured tiie small British steamer Quadra, privately owned by a Vancouver company. According to San Francisco officers, the Quadra was mother ship to a huge rum fleet, and was captured six miles off the coast in the act of transferring liquor to smaller vessels. One of these, seized a few hours earlier than the Quadra, had liquor to the value of £4OOO on board.
