HARVESTERS’ WAGES
FARMERS FACE BIG BILL. UNION’S FRESH DEMANDS. Bv Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright SYDNEY, October 14. Farmers are faced with a high wages bill for the forthcoming harvest under the new log issued by the Australian Workers’ Union. The demands range from 13s to £1 5s per day, with keep, according to the quality of the work, with a daily wage of 18s 9d without keep, for all casual labour; a 48-hour week, Saturday afternoon off, and all overtime at the rate of time and a half, with work on Sundays and' holidays counted as double time.
