WELLINGTON'S FINE WIN. The annual inter-club telegraph championship match between Auokland and Wellington was concluded on Saturday night. The games were played in the respective club rooms, Mr Clark re}ieving Mr Hamlin as operator at the Wellington end, while Mr Harrison relieved Mr McKenzie at Auckland. Wellington’s first sucoess came soon after resumption of play, Mr Craven 'at board 11, .who had left his game in a good position the previous evening, announcing “mate” in two on the third move. This was followed by a draw by mutual consent at board 8, neither Mr Barnes (Wellington) nor Mr Doulthart (Auckland) being well enough to play. The match resulted largely in toe Wellington club’s favour, the finished games resulting Wellington 11, Auckland 4, and Wellington’s position can only be bettered by toe result of the adjudication on toe 6 unfinished games at boards 9, 12, 13, 16, 20.
