Waiotapu,. from Auckland, is due at Vancouyer • about Wednesday next, and later proceeds to San Francisco to complete loading for Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. FOB TT.S.A. AND LONDON. TheS.S. and A. liner Hamari, now loading at Dunedin, leaves there on Tuesday for Nelson, Wanganui, Wellington, Lyttelton, Napier and Auckland. She is due here on September 26th, and will sail on October Ist for Lyttelton. She clerfrs Auckland finally on October 15th for London via New York and Boston. MAIMOA’S PROGRAMME. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the Maimoa leaves Lyttelton to-day to complete discharge and commence loading. She subsequently loads at Napier, Gisborne, Wellington, Wanganui and Auckland, and is due here on September 28th, sailing on October 2nd for Wanganui. She is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on October 11th for London via Teneriffe. lONIC LOADING . The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company announce that the lonic leaves Bluff today for further loading at Napier and Wellington. She is due here on September 21st, and sails at daybreak on September 27th for Southampton and London via Monte Video and Teneriffe, COALS FROM NEWCASTLE. The Onion Company advise that the coal steamer Waihemo was to have left Newcastle yesterday for Wellington. She is due about Saturday next. LOWANA IN PORT. The Melbourne Steamship Company’s new steamer Lowana arrived at Wellington on Saturday from Auckland to continue discharge of cargo shipped at Sydney (Cape Breton) and Montreal, under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. She sails to-morrow for Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. The Lowana is on her maiden voyage. She was built at Glasgow, and launched early in June. On her trial trip she did 12 knots, and from Montreal-an average of 10 knots was maintained. The vessel—a fine class of cargo steamer —was built for the Australian inter-State trade. Her dimensions are:—Length, 334 ft; breadth, 47ft; and depth, 25ft. , She is a shelter-deck vessel, and her single screw is driven by triple expansion engines. Her carrying capacity is nearly 6000 tons. After completion of discharge in the south the vessel will proceed to Australia where she Will be handed over to her owners. Captain R. Brotherton is in command of the Lowana. His officers are: Chief, Mr T. Peters; second, Mr F. Heppell; third, Mr J. Roberts: chief engineer, Mr G. Simpson; second, Mr R. Glen; third, Mr W. LOADING FOB U.S.A. AND CANADA. The Canadian Constructor is now in port, loading for New York, Boston and Montreal. She leaves here this afternoon for Auckland to complete. PERSONAL. Mr W. McNab has joined tho Echo aa second engineer. WITH AMERICAN CARGO. Mr W. Wallis, agent for the A. and A. Line, advises that he has received cable advice stating that the Trevithick sailed from New York on September 6th and from Newport News on September 9th for Auokland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland on October 13th and at Wellington a week later. MELBOURNE SERVICE. The Union Company advise that the Moeraki is due to-day from Melbourne, and will sail to-morrow for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff, thence Melbourne again. FROM THE EAST. The Union Company's chartered steamer Sussex is due at Wellington to-day from Auckland to put out a further portion of her cargo loaded at Calcutta, Singapore and Samarang. Her departure for Sydney has been fixed at 3 p.m. to-morrow. TO REPLACE THE RIPPLE. Messrs Richardson and Co., Ltd., of Napier, have, through their manager, Mr K. McCloary, at present in England, purchased a steamer called the Glenaide to replace the Ripple in the weekly run between Wellington and East Coast ports. The Glenaide is to leave Plymouth on Thursday, and will come via Panama. It is considered that she will take about two and a half months to arrive. The Glenside was built in 1921 by the Goole Shipping and Refrigerating Company, and she is 554 tons gross. Her length is 165 feet, her breadth 27 feet, and ler depth 10 feet. She is well decked, and carries her machinery aft. She is something after the type of the Holmdale, only not so big. She had. etxtna big hatches, and is capable of carrying 700 tons deadweight and 900 tons of measurement, The Bjpple used to carry 850 t ns of deadweight, and 480 tons of measurement.
