MAOTERTON BODY MEETS. (By Telegraph.—Special to “Times. 4 */ MASTERTON, September *2. At the monthly meeting of the geenral Committee of the Masterton A. and P Association, held this afternoon, Mr D. Smith presiding, the treasurer reported that the receipts to date amounted to <6415. The credit in the working account was £1169, and total bank debit was <2830. Mr W. P. McLaren aws elected chairman of the ground committee. Votes of condolences to the relatives were passed in connection with, the deaths of Mr J. Cairns. Miss "Wagg, Mrs A. Matthews, and Mrs Low (mother of Mr A. D. Low). The Shorthorn Sooietv of Now Zealand donated a shield valued at £3 3s for the champion Shorthorn bull at the Masterton Show, such bull to be registered in the New Zealand Shorhom Herd Book. The New Zealand Kennel Club wrote stating that challenges had been allotted to the Masterton Association in regard to smooth-coated collie dogs, deerhounds, and bearded dog at the next show. The General Manager for Railways wrote Stating that the request of the association regarding the issue of tickets at holiday excursion fares to A. and .P. shows from any distance, instead of ohargimr ordinary fares for distances up to 50 miles, could not be acceded to. Similai letters were received from the Minister for Railways and Minister for Agriculture. In regard to the proposed memorial to the late Sir W. C. Buchanan it was decided that Messrs D. Smith, C. .T. Bennett, and G. H. Perry attend the meeting at Carterton.
