JEWEL ROBBERY
PRINCE’S HOSTESS A VICTIM. VALUABLE GEMS TAKEN. (Sydney “Sun” Cable.) (Received September 13, 0.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 11. Twenty detectives are engaged on the Mountbatten jewellery robbery, but so far are without a definite clue. Mrs Cosdeu, wife of the oil millionaire, was the heaviest loser. A black pearl ring, valued at £IO,OOO, a pigeon blood ruby, valued at £6OOO, and several other valuable gems were stolen from her. Mrs Cosden is entertaining the Prince of Wales ; at Long Island. Two other guests, Lady Mountbatten vand Mrs Richard Norton, also lost jewellery.
