In his speech 'at Penmaenmawr, Mr Lloyd George denounced the Russian Treaty as “a fake and a folly.’’ The Premier had been held up bv Socialist g*'lumen. It was an act of criminal recklessness to guarantee huge sums to bo spent by the organisers of anarchy. The Liberal Party would forfeit the respect of the nation if it shirked the challenge, and the Government would suffer an unparalleled defeat if it appealed to tho country on the Treaty.
