IMPERIAL FLEET
DUNEDIN ANXIOUS. The Mayor of Dunedin (Mr H. L. Tapdcy) has forwarded the following telegram to the Prime Minister in connection with the approaching visit of the Imperial fleet to New Zealand :—“As the citizens of Dunedin will be unable to see H.M.S. Hood and other ships Of the fleet, it has been suggested that I Should urge yon bo try and arrange with Admiral Field to borne south-about to Wellington instead bf Cook Strait. The distance is practically the same as coming by Cook Strait. If the fleet comes in dose off St Clair during the day citi. abiis ahd school -h'ldren could view the fleet off St. Clair beach. If you oould arrange Dunedin citijjens would be exceedingly grateful. Citizens a.so urge that Admiral Field and his staff pay a personal visit to Dunedin, coin- 1 mg overland. Trusting you can arrange.”
