“SOCCER” FOOTBALL

SWIFTS CLUB. The Swifts Association Football Club held their thirty-first annual meeting at the, Y.M.C.A. rooms last night, when Mr Salmond presided over a fair attendance of members. The chairman dealth briefly witih the report and balancesheet, which was adopted with lengthy discussion. Seven new members were elected to the club. OFFICE-BEARERS. The following office-bearers were elected for the. ensuing season: —President, C. P. Skerrett, Esq., K.C.; vice-presidents, Dr D. Isaacs. Messrs C. Bethel, J. Kean, H. G. Graves, F. J. Courtenay, G. Wilson, J. Pye-Smith, J. M. Olliver, P. PyeSmith. F. Saunders, G. Guise, R. Hutcheson, D. Scott, W. M. Mathleson, J. S. O’Brien, L. White, B. L. Salmon, T. Brenner, J. Warshaw, R. Craig, A. S. Penlington, 3. Martin; club captain, J. Kean; hon. secretary, C. G. Bird.; assist-ant-secretary, G. Lamford; hon. treasurer, A. G. Mattingly; 'hon. auditor, J. Sutherland; management committee, Messrs Guise, C. Jones, F. Jonee, Flaws, and Kimmins; delegates to W.F.A., Messrs Kean, White, O'Brien. GENERAL. Mr J. Kean moved a recommendation to the management committee that ln.n. members be admitted to the club. Tho motion was carried. Mr Salmon moved that the management committe consider the question of training for the season. It was decided to make a trip to Nelson at Easter. A recommendation was moved to the management committee that a reunion be held ns soon as possible.—Tho motion was carried.
