SALE OF CITY FREEHOLD

MESSRS S. -GEORGE NATHAN AND COMPANY. The auction rooms of Messrs 9. George Nathan and Co. were crowded yesterday afternoon. Acting under Instructions Tram Mr J. L. Arcus, liquidator of Robert Martin Ltd., the firm submitted the freehold property with a frontage oi 37ft 6in to Manners street, by a depth of over 100 ft. together with two shorn thereon. This property runs light through to Willis street, having a frontage of 32ft to the latter street, by a depth of nearly 180 ft, together with a three+jtory brick building thereon. The property waa first offered as a whole. Bidding started at £27,00*., rose to £35,000, and was passed in as the reserve was not reached. The Manners street frontage was next offered. Bidding for this started at £20,000, and rose to £23,000. The Willis street property was then offered. Bidding started at £IO,OOO, and rose to £II,OOO. The next property was in the estate of the iate Mrs M. A. Martin, known as No. 19, Kent Terrace, having a frontage of 86.5 links by a depth of 878.75 links, together with a 13-room-ed residence thereon. This properiv is within a couple of hundred feet of the new theatre. Bidding started at £SOOO and rose to £7350. Th 4 reserve was not readied. All these properties are now in the hands of the auctioneers for private sale.
