ACTION FORESHADOWED
CABINET’S SECOND MEETING Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 29, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 29. The “Daily Herald’s” political correspondent, though writing .guardedly, foreshadows Government action regarding current problems. He says that Cabinet’s second meeting, lasting two hours, discussed housing, agriculture, unemployment, foreign affaira and naval defence. Air Macdonald, who had spent bany hours in unremitting inquiry into French relations and Russian recognition reported tho result thereof. Mr John Wheatley, during the weekend, had a conference with the chairman. of the Building Trades Workers’ Federation. He will continue his conferences with the leaders of the building trades luring the week. It is understood that Mr Wheatley is aiming at a dilution of labour, ana the building of a quarter of a million houses per annum.
