Present indications (4 p.m. yesterday) are for variable "winds, but 1 moderate to strong easterlies prevailing northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and norther-
lies elsewhere. Weather warm and humid, with increasing haze and cloudiness generally, and drizzling rain following in many parts. The barometer has a falling tendency.
