At a recent meeting of the committee of St. John Ambulance Association, the secretary since 1915, Mr J. B. Finlav, tendered his resignation, to taka effect from the end of February. Th* resignation was accepted with regret, and Mr Finlay was thanked for hia maoy services to the association. Advice was received by the Wellington Cricket Association last night that a visit might be expected about the middle of next month from Mr W. P. MoElhone. Mr McElhone is president of tbo Now South Wales Cricket Association, and was for many years a member of the executive, founder of the present Board of Control, ex-Lord Mayor of Sydney, and at present aiderman of the city. Archbishop Mannix, of Melbourne, who has been visiting Auckland and Rotorua, arrived in Wellington last night via the Wanganui river route.
