AFTER THE CONTESTS
AUCKLAND CONGRATULATED. After the race Mr TV. Duncan, chairman .of the Wellington Yacht and Motor Boat Association, presented the cup to Mr J. B. Johnston, chairman of the Auckland Association. Ho congratulated Auckland on their fine win, and hoped that Wellington would do better on the next occasion. In reply Mr Johnston said that their victory was due in the main to Messrs J. Gifford and V. Lingard (skippers of the Rona) and the young crew. He also paid a tribute to the way in which the Wellington Association had conducted the races, and fpr the good time they had given the visitors from both north and south. Mr A. Moffett, Southland, also congratulated the winners.
