THE SANDERS CUP
RETAINED BY AUCKLAND RON A AYI.N'S BOTH RACES. INTERESTING CONTEST AND FINE SEAMANSHIP. The Sanders Cnp contest concluded .L-sterday, when Rona, the Auckland boat, won two races in succession, and thus retained the cup for another year, the other two boats competing in the final being Linnet (Canterbury) and Murihiku (Southland). In both races it was the splendid seamanship of the Ilona’s skipper, Lingard, rather than any superior qualities of the boat which won the victory. In the final race, Ilona was first, Linnet second, and Murihiku third, the same order in which the boats finished in Auckland last vear.
