FINE PERFORMANCE By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright SYDNEY, January 28. Lindsav Mines, of the liosman Swim, ming Club, dashed over 50 yards in 23 1-! seconds, clipping three-fifths of a second off A. Wickham’s record. It is understood, "however, that record-breaking conditions were not observed. The record referred to is probably an Australian one. as the world s record for 50 yards is held by Duke Kahananiokti, who. on March 13th, 1915, at Auckland, covered the distance in 22 3-ssec. Ho repeated the time on June 7th, 1923, at Los Angeles. John Weismuller did 50 yards in 22 4-osoc at Honolulu in August, 1922.
