SECRETARY ARRESTED
For Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 26. R. D. Martin, secretary of tne Bakers’ and Pastrycooks’ Union, was arrested on a charge of the theft of moneys belonging to the union. Martin was at one time a member of the City Council (heating C. H. Agar at a by-election), hut he was not re-elected at the last .election. He also stood unsuccessfully for Kaiapoi at the last Parliamentary election.
