SARAZEN’S START
LEADS BRITISH GOLF CHAMPION. TWENTY-TWO HOLE MATCH. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 27, 5.5 p.m.), SAN FRANCISCO, January 25. Gene Savzen, the United States professional golf champion, was the victor by three strokes in the first half 'jf the seevnty-two hole match with Arthur Havers, the British open champion. Sarazen will carry his lead to the second half of the match at Los Angeles on Sunday. Rain fell most of the day. The total for thirty-six holes is Sarazen 151, Havers 154.
