THREATENING CROWD
UNEMPLOYED RIOT. Renter’* Telegram. BERLIN, January 24. At an unemployed demonstration in Cologne against the drastic reduction of the unemployment dole, following inflammatory speeches, the crowd became threatening. The police fired over their heads, and the unemployed replied with shots from automatic pistols. A police inspector was wounded in the leg. The police charged and dispersed the crowd.
