SOME RECORD PRICES. Record prices for Southland were obtained at the first wool sales of the season yesterday, according to an Invercargill Press Association message. The top price was 29}d for fine halfbred. Bidding throughout was brick, Bradford, Continental, and American buyers operating freely. A c onsiderable amount of wool was bought for the Continent, and German buyers assisted in .keeping prices up Halfpenny and penny bids were frequent. Very few lots passed at auction, some vendors holding their lots, bnt the majjority were porjbctly satisfied with their prices, and willingly faced the market.
