Tho result came as a surprise, as in view of the latter’s play in the earlier rounds it was expected that he would bo victorious. Both broke down at easy shots. Brookes and Anderson reached tho final of the doubles, defeating Wertheim and Fitchett, 64, 63, 6-4. Patterson and O’Hara Wood defeated Treloar and Philips, of West Australia, 61, 7-5, 61.
