COUNTRY BEAUTIFUL
FINE ARTS COMMISSION. DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, January 24. The King, on Mr Baldwin’s advice, has appointed a Fine Arts Commission to advise the Government regarding public statues, town-planning, landscape gardening, public parks, and the decoration of public buildings. The commission includes the Earl of Crawford, Marquis Ourzon, Sir Aston Webb, Sir Edwin. Lutyens, Sir George Frampton, Mr D. Y. Cameron, and Air T. H. Mawson, the town-planner. Sir Aston "Webb and Sir Edwin Lutyens are Britain’s most distinguished architects; Sir George Frampton is a leading artist and Messrs Cameron -and Mawson are authorities on the aesthetics of cities. The Elarl of Crawford, formerly First Commissioner of Works, is a Trustee of the National Gallery; and Marquis Curaon, once Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, is distinguished in many spheres.
