NOVA SCOTIAN COAL STRIKE

NOT REGARDED AS SERIOUS. A cable message received last week stated that the miners at Sydney, Nova Scotia, were going out on strike over a 20 per cent, reduction in their pay. Advices received from Mr C. E. Gausden, manager of the export department of the British Empire Steel Corporation, whoso works are in Sydney, state that the trouble is not regarded as serious so far as the steel works are concerned, and it is not anticipated that there will be any check on the manufacture of steel, large reserves of coal being on hand.
