Thd Stock Exchange opened with a confident disposition, showing that the Cabinet appointments are viewed favourably. Gilt edged stocks eold at j per cent, above yesterday’3 closing prices; consols 55£; war loans 9H|. Railway stocks were ( to 1 per cent higher. Industrial concerns also participated in the rise.
