GATHERING AT CARTERTON
SIR WALTER BUCHANAN HONOURED. Her Press Association. OARTERTON, December 20. There was a large gathering of members of the Wairarapa- P. and A. Society last night at a smoke conceit, to present Sir Walter Buchanan with a handsome illuminated album. The Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister for Mines, Professor Boyd-Wilson, of Victoria University, and other prominent men were present. Sir Walter was eulogised for his work in Parliament, as founder of the P. and A. Society, for his efforts in establishing the meat freezing industry and dairy industries, for his gift for the chair of agricuitme, the Buchanan Home, and other activities, especially in the cause of education and the interests of ingThe meeting was enthusiastic, and Sir Walter was loudly cheered. He is now in his 86t-h year.
