BROOKE—On December 18th, 1917, while on duty with the Forces in Egypt, Frederic John Medows Zachary, ■ eldest son of Frederic Brooke, of Wellington, solicitor, and “Pyrford" Ruakura, Hamilton, and Emma Brooke, of malaria; aged 25. "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”—Job L and 21.
