A WANGANUI ASTRONOMER
CONGRATULATED BY SOCIETY. A RECORD SIZE MIRROR. The New Zealand Astronomical So ciety has been informed by Mr Thomas Allison, F-RA.S., of Wanganui, that Air J. T. Ward, who is well-known throughout the Dominion in connection with his work at the Wanganui Observatory, is engaged on the polishing of a 20-inch mirror. Messrs Ward and Allison, both of whom are members of the New Zealand Council, have already made mirrors up to 14 inches in diameter. The society decided to congratulate Mr Ward upon his achievement in connection with this important work.
