GAMBRIDGE WAR MEMORIAL

AUCKLAND, December 12. The Cambridge war memorial was unveiled by Lord Jellicoe this week, in the presence of a large crowd. A Erooession, consisting of the police, fire rigade, scouto, territorials, returned soldiers, members of local bodies, the Mayor ami councillors, headed by the town band, marched from the Drill Hall to the memorial. On arrival there the Governor-General was welcomed to Cambridge by the Mayor. His Excellency, in the c-rurse of his remarks, paid a splendid tribute to the sacrifices made in the war, and earnestly appealed that the example of those men who nobly did their duty should be followed by all. After the unveiling ceremony tho memorial was dedicated bv the Bishop of Auckland, tho Benediction being pronounced by the Rev. Jas. Hay. The Rev. McArthur read the Lesson.
