Joe ‘Keri, who was found guilty of indecent assault, came before Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice, for sentence to-day* His Honour said the case was: a bad one for two reasons, makinlg the Maori woman drunk, and making untrue statements in the box. The prisoner had also behaved badly previously in tryingto get a wife to leave her husband. Prisoner was sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment. TWO YEARS’ PROBATION INTERFERENCE WITH A GIRL. Per Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, November 23. In the Juvenile Court, a youth, 14J years of age, was charged with indecently • assaulting a young girl. Accused had been employed at a picture theatre, and induced the girl to go inside the building during the day time, when the offenoe allegedly was committed. The charge was reduced to one of common assault, and the accused was admitted to probation for two years. The magistrate, Mr J. Stout, imposed the condition that accused is not to attend picture® or be connected with picture theatres during that period.
