CHARGE OF ARSON. As tlio result of an arrest mad© by Detectives Cooper and Walker a young mail named Albert Edward AlcGinity was committed for trial on a ctlisrgo of wilfully isotting fire to tho premises, .No. 70, Tory street, which are occupied by liis father, Thomas I. MoGinity.

When examined by Detective Nnttall witness gave his answers very hesitatingly, hut admitted tliat ho had heard his son say to a member of tho brigade: “I done it.” His son was very drunk at tlie time.

Superintendent Tate said accused admitted having caused tho firo. Accused, in a. statement to the police, said that he had thrown a match down near tho back door after lighting a cigarette. He pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial.
