The president (Air C. M. Brinks) pointed out that the Government; hdi'ch introducing the tyre tax, had premised that motorists should riot he subject to any further taxatiori for, road purposes at the hands of local bodies.
It was resolved to protest hgairist the proposed levy arid to endeavour to secure the fecOgriiti'ori of the principle that there should he only one tax, that levied by thfe GoverriiWent, oh inOtorlSts for road purposes.
