INCREASED PAY
INTER-STATE SHIPPING. EQUAL TO £50.000 A YEAR. By r©jegraph.—Presj A«sri. (Received October 30, 5.5 p.m ) MELBOURNE, October 30. From November Ist, as the result of September quarterly adjustments, the pay of maritime workers will be increased as follows:—Masters, officers, seamen, shipwrights, cooks, and stewards, 7s 6d per month ; painters, dockers, waterside workers. Id per hour. The aggregate effect upon the interstate shipping companies is equivalent to £50,000 annually. This, added to the increases granted under the June adjustment, equals £200,000 annually.
