EXTENSIVE THEFTS
YOUNG MAN’S RECORD. FURTHER CHARGES PENDING. That he had unlawfully removed two bicycles from Feilding and one from Lower Hutf, to the total value of £23 10s, was admitted by a young man, Charles Patrick McAllister, at t-m? Magistrate’s Court yesterday when tlie offender appeared before Mr E. Page, S.M., for sentence. Detective Nuttall explained that the thefts were extensive. The accused had a list- of previous convictions, and had served one year’s hard labour and three years’ reformative detention, and he had just lately been released from gaol. The magistrate imposed a term not exceeding two years’ reformative detention on each of the charges. Fire further charges of theft (two of the theft of cycles and three of saddles and bridles), the total value of the articles being £42 3s, were further laid against accused. Upon the accused electing to be tried by a jury a remand for one week was granted by the bench.
