Mr W. Forrest Marshall left for the United States and Europe by the Tahiti, in connection with the development of hydro-electric power from Lake Hochstetter for gold dredging on tho West Coast. He expects to return about February.

Captain L. Mclntosh Ellis, Director o-f Forestry Services, who represented New Zealand at the British Empire Forestry Conference at Ottawa, Canada, arrived back in Wellington by the Main Trunk express from Auckland yesterday. Mrs Ellis is spending sora« little time in Canada, before returnin| to New* Zealand.

A member of “The Cabaret Girl M Company, which arrived in Wellington yesterday from Sydney, is Mr Gordon Bolitho, formerly of Auckland. Mr Bolitho is a brother of Mr H. Hector Bolitho, the New Zealand journalist, who lias boon associated with various newspapers in Sydney, and who is now on his wav to England. Mr Gordon Bolitho has entered tho dancing profession under the J. C. Williamson management.
