A beauty competition for elderly women at Turin (Italy) was won by n 9C-year-old competitor. There wore 130 entrants, one. aged 73, having perfectly black hair. Thirty of the competitors were single women.
Passengers carried by the British railways during January of this year numbered 89,205,978, excluding season ticket holders.
