The director® have received the following unsolicited letter from one of Vestey’s late pickers and buyers of fat vtock for Taruheru Works: “For your information I may state that up to about 1920 I was picking sheep for Nel son Bros. (Vestey’B) for their Taruheru Works at Gisborne, and in tho course of my duties I had to negotiate for the purchase of sheep. During the last year I operated my instructions were that the company would not allow ttock to be put through on owners’ account, but that they would either buy them right out or they would have to go through wliat is called the consolidated rate, which makes the works the solo agents and sellers of the meat, and they consequently control the sale of it at the English end.” This letter, say the directors, requires no comment.
