ALLEGATION AGAINST COUNCIL
The inquest concerning the death of Frederick George Manhire, City Council employee, who died on Sunday as the result ol an electric shock, was
opened by Air AI > vern !\ il-on. coroner, this afternoon.
Evidence of identification was jjiven by a brother of deceased, who >aid he bpuke to deceased in hospital. Deceased said to him: "J have jj.ot Itiy lot. It was the council'* fault. Tlie ‘juice’ was ail supposed to he switched elf/' Deceased told witness he had just started to clean the switchboard, when he received a shock, and stated that the donrd were left unlocked tor the men to go in ami clean the switchboards. At this stage the inquest was adjourned.
