The Crown Law Officers have decided that this taking a vote over the whole of 11,.- North lelrnd and the South Island respectively, and niewnts the ward system of voting being used. It ~s intended that nominations of candidates shall he required to be in the hands of the Electoral Department not later Ilian November 22nd. and that the poll shall close at noon on December 13th. Regulations to this

effect are now in course of preparation, but this early notification is made so that those interested can have as much time as possible to make their arrangemeats.
