SERIOUS FIRE
WOOLLEN MILLS DESTROYED DAMAGE TOTALS £30,000. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, October 27. Tho Rosedalc Woollen Mills at- Nortll Invercargill were completely destroyed by fire at 4 o'clock this morning. The mills being situated outside the town boundary, the brigade did not attend, and, in spite of tlie efforts of the residents with buckets of water, the flames swept the buildings. Some stock wae saved, but the valuable plant was destroyed.
THE INSURANCES
SEVENTY 01 *T OF WORK. Later. Tlie Rosedalc mill, stock, plant, and buildings were insured for £36,000 in the Royal Exchange and Yorkshire offices. The damage is estimated £30,000. Tlie mill employed seventy hands, who are now thrown out of employment.
