The Dunedin Hospital Committee reported at a recent meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board that Dr Reay (formerly of Dunedin), of the house surgeon staff, had asked to be relieved of his agreement, which would terminate on November 14th. As Dr J. Young was available, it wa6 decided to agree to Dr Reay's request.

White, who has been aotin gas resident secretary of the North British and Mercantile at Auckland, resumes his former position of assistant manager of tho Auckland branch of the Insurance Office of Australia, Limited.

The Commissioner for Crown Lands for the Auckland district. Air H. M. Skeet, is retiring. At the last board meeting over which he presided, Air R. Roddy, the senior member, on behalf of the board members, presented the retiring commissioner with a token of their regard in the form of an electric reading lamp. Air Skeet, in replying, said he was parting from the board and his connection with the department and staff with very great regret, after 40 years in the public service. Air Justice Frazer, with tho Registrar nf the Arbitration Court Air J. A. Giluiour), says a Press Association message, left Dunedin on Saturday morning for Wellington. The other members of the court. Mr \Y. Scott and Mr H. Hunter* travelled as far as Christchurch.

The death of Air Peter „Gow Scrimgeour occurred at his residence, Militant street. Upper Hutt, last week, at the age of 45. He was the eldest son of the late Mr A. C. Scrimgeour, Masterton, and had for some years pact been a member of the Ordnance Corps. He went away with the Bth Contingent, and saw considerable eervice in France. The funeral, which was a military one, took place on Friday. The late Air Scrimgeour leaves a widow, four sisters and a brother to mourn their loss.
