In tho Legislative Assembly the Meat Industry Bill was read the second time. It is proposed to organise the industry under a board, ana impose a levy on cattle and dheen for the necessary funds. Mr Gillies explained that the" levy would not exceed a penny on cattle and one-sixth of a penny on sheep, with exemptions for a hundrej cattle and five hundred sheep.
