In a letter from Sydney received by a Wellington resident from an exNew Zealander, it is stated that while Rapine s owner, Mr A. B. Williams, and other New Zealanders have horses nominated for next year’s A.J.C Perfby, Mr H. A. Knight, Ballymena’s owner, has “given it a miss.” Ballymena’s trainer, F. I). Jones, is expected back in Sydney in the autumn. It is said he and Mr Knight are interested as joint owners with Mr S. J. Gibbons in some promising horses which are confidently expected to give them a handsome return before long.
