BRICKLAYERS’ WAGES IN U.S.A. SHORTAGE IN SCOTLAND. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assocint'on LONDON, October 25. The Edinburgh Corporation’s scheme for building 1774 houses has been retarded by the lack of bricklayers. Only 25 are available, 500 having gone to the United States to take advantage of tho high wages, £2 10s per day, being paid there. Ihe Glasgow and other Scottish building schemes are similarly retarded.
