EASTBOURNE AFFAIRS
BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING. QUESTION OF WATER SUPPLY. The Eastbourne Borough Conn* oil met last night, the Mayor (Mr F- H. _ Mather) presiding. Other members of the council present were: Councillors E. A. Dawc*on, C. A. Marquis. C. Bowden. H. M. Jonee. H. N. Shortt. and O. HullBrown. It was notified by the Wellington Hospital Board that owing to adda- : ions and increased cost of building over estimates, the council's proportion would be increased by approximately IHo The Wellington Town Clerk replied with reference to the council's inquiry regarding a water service, .stating that nothing could be decided until the effort of tho Orongorongo supply on city was known Tho Ferry Board reported that * (aten.oiU showing the financial poe*i Lion had been laid before them ftt a previous mooting.
