Colonel Plastiras has issued a statement that he considers that the movement in Macedonia has ended, and that that in Pelopponnesus will end Vithin a day or two. SITUATION IN HAND. ?üblUh»d in “Th# Tim©#** LONDON, October 24. The Athens correspondent of “The Times” says that all the indications point to the Government having the situation well in hand. It is generally •believed that the movement was planned by retired Royalist officers and others who have a grudge against the revolutionaries, in conjunction with General Aletaxas, who welcomed the opportunity to depose the revolutionaries and become master of the situation. Colonel Plastiras gave information of tho intended coup, but no importance was attached to it, with the result that Aletaxas and his lieutenants escaped before the news of tho insurrection reached Athens. ATHENS UNDISTURBED. The movement found a most unfavourable atmosphere in Athens, where the people are tired of revolutions, and were looking forward to the elections and a long period of peace and public order. The city is not disturbed. Banks, shops, a*rxl office* are doing normally, and the cafes and cinemas are crowded as usual.
