QUEENSLAND PROPOSAL.

The Queensland Government lias decided to grant one-third of a fund of £IOOO towards establishing a permanent State Orchestra, if the other two-thirds are raised. The Brisbane City Council is considering contributing one-third, if the public subscribes the remainder.
