CHINESE BANDITS
RAILWAY STATION SACKED.
EXPRESS RETREATS.
Reuter’s Telegram PEKING, October 24 The “Peking Daily News” reports that 500 bandits sacked Kuanting station, south of Gheng-Chow. An express from Hankow arrived at Kuanting during tho raid, but retreated, the bandits firing upon it. The bullets struck the train, but did not damage it* Troops were sent to Kuanting soon after tne raid, and fighting ensued, the bandits being driven off. According to an official report, the stationmaster and his family are missing. The afternoon train from Hankow has failed to arrive at Peking.
