The Commonwealth and Dominion Line advise that a new boat, the Port Brisbane. was launched on October 11th. t'lie has a displacement of 11,600 tons, and will ply between the United Kingdom and Australasia. PORT NAPIER FOR WELLINGTON. The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Napier, which is at present loading at Wanganui, will leave there on Saturday for Wellington. From here she goes to Gisborne and Auckland, and leaves Auckland on November 3rd for London, via Las Palmas. DORSET AND TRELYON. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Dorset and Trelyon will leave Auckland on Saturday for Wellington, where they are due on Monday. PIAKO SAILS SATURDAY. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Piako, which is at present loading at Auckland, will leave- there cn Saturday for New York, Boston, London, and West Coast of the United Kingdom. CANADIAN SEIGNEURS TRANSHIPMENTS. Messrs Murray. Roberts and Co. advise that the transhipments from the Canadian Seigneur, which was to have arrived at Auckland yesterday* wiU come south by the Ngukuta, which is due on Tuesday next. lONIC AT LYTTELTON. TAINUI FOR WELLINGTON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the Tainui, which is at present at Timaru, will leave there on Saturday from and is due here on Sunday. She sails finally from here at daybreak on November 3rd for Southampton and London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe.

PORT STEPHEN AT AUCKLAND. The C. and D. Co. advise that the Port Stephen is due at Auckland to-day. This vessel left New York on September 22nd for Auckland. AVellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is timed to arrive in Wellington on Wednesday next. CANTERBURY STEAMERS. Messrs Turnbull and Co. advise the following movements: — The Gale, from AVanganui, is due today. and will .sail to-day for Dunedin direct, thence Timaru. The Calm is due from Wanganui tomoirow, and sails the same day for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Breeze is due from the south tomorrow, and sails the same day for Wanganui. The Storm ia due from southern ports on Tuesday, and sails the same day for AVanganui, The Kohi i» due to-day from Nelson and bays, and sails to-morrow for Picton, Nelson, Havelock, and Motueka. TAHITI FOR WELLINGTON. A cable from Sydney reports that the R.M.S. Tahiti left Sydney at noon yesterday for Wellington. She should arrive hero on Monday and is timed to clear this port at 3 o’clock next Tuesday afternoon for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. THE WESTMORELAND. In the cable columns of to-day'fj issue there is a message stating that a steamer called the Westmoreland is in a sinking condition. This vessel is not to be identified with the Westmoreland that visits New Zealand periodically under the charter ot the Federal Company. She has responded to a London call and has reported "all well." She should arrive in London on Sunday. LING NAM IN PORT. The Chinese steamer Ling Nam, under the agency of the Huddart-Parker Company, arrived in the stream from Sydney yesterday morning, and berthed at the Glasgow wharf to discharge about 270 tons of general cargo. She should clear Wellington on Saturday, when she will proceed to Papeete, Panama, Callao and JcniiiqiHs, returning to Australia with cargo of nitrate of soda. The Ling Nam carrie* through cargo and passengers to South America. This is the second trip of the Ling Nam in these waters, and the service offers a two-fold benefit to merchants, (1) those trading with China and (2) with Papeete, Panama and South America. The purpose I of the Chungwhn Navigation Line i* to further extend the service to Shanghai.
